About the Developer
Andrew Mitchell is a fantasy writer and self-taught software developer based in Austin, Texas. He built AYCM Manuscript out of pure frustration — like many serious writers, he found himself juggling five separate apps just to manage the different pieces of his story. Nothing talked to each other. Nothing was built with the complexity of a full novel in mind. So he decided to build it himself.
What followed was nearly a decade of work. Andrew spent the first years not writing code, but thinking deeply about design — mapping out how a true writing ecosystem should actually work, how the pieces of a story connect, and what a writer actually needs to finish a book. Only then did he teach himself Swift and SwiftUI to bring that vision to life.
Andrew built AYCM alongside his wife and business partner Andrea, who has been part of the project from the ground up. The company name itself — AYCM, short for Andrea, You Complete Me — is a dedication to her.
