Privacy Policy
How AYCM, LLC collects, uses, and protects your information.
Last updated: October 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to AYCM Manuscript and AYCM, LLC ("Company") and governs data collection and usage. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to the Company include aycm.app and www.aycmmanuscript.com. The Company's application is a novel writing software application. By using the Company application, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.
Collection of Your Personal Information
We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain personal information to us when you elect to use certain products or services. These may include: (a) registering for an account; (b) entering a sweepstakes or contest sponsored by us or one of our partners; (c) signing up for special offers from selected third parties; (d) sending us an email message; (e) submitting your credit card or other payment information when ordering and purchasing products and services. To wit, we will use your information for, but not limited to, communicating with you in relation to services and/or products you have requested from us. We also may gather additional personal or non-personal information in the future.
Sharing Information with Third Parties
The Company does not sell, rent, or lease its customer lists to third parties.
The Company may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to the Company, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
The Company may disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on the Company or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of the Company; and/or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Company, or the public.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Features
Some features of AYCM Manuscript use artificial intelligence, such as the writing and editing assistants, AI-generated images, and chapter narration. These features are optional.
We do not use your content to train AI models. AYCM does not train, fine-tune or build AI models using your writing, your projects, or anything else you create or share in the app.
To provide these features, we use the following service providers:
- Anthropic: writing, editing and assistant features;
- OpenAI: writing, editing and assistant features, AI-generated images, and standard narration voices;
- ElevenLabs: premium narration voices.
When you use an AI feature, the content needed for that request, such as the passage, chapter or character details you are working on, is sent to the relevant provider to produce the result. We also use these providers to help operate parts of the service, such as the Writers Lounge community. Each provider processes this content under its own terms and privacy policy: Anthropic, OpenAI and ElevenLabs.
AI-generated results can be inaccurate or unexpected. Please review them before you rely on, share or publish them.
Age Verification for the Writers Lounge
The Writers Lounge, the app's optional community space, is for adults 18 and older. Before you can take part, we confirm your age with a quick selfie check. If the selfie can't confirm your age, you can choose to verify with a photo of your government ID instead. The check only happens if you agree to it on our "Verify your age" screen.
- Who runs the check: our verification partner Didit (Didit Identity, Inc.) processes your selfie, and your ID if you choose to use one, on our behalf and only to confirm your age. Didit processes this information on servers in the European Union.
- What we keep: only the result, meaning whether you are 18 or older, how it was confirmed, the date, a reference number from Didit, and which version of the consent wording you agreed to. We never receive or keep your selfie, your ID image, your face geometry, or the details on your ID.
- How long it's kept: Didit deletes your selfie, any ID images and all face geometry as soon as the result is sent to us, and never more than 30 days after the check. For questions about how Didit handles your data, contact Didit at privacy@didit.me.
- Your app store: on supported devices, the app may also read the age range Apple or Google shares with it, and we keep what it says. If it shows you are under 18, the Writers Lounge stays closed.
A selfie can be used to measure the geometry of a face, which some laws treat as biometric information. Our Biometric Data Notice & Retention Policy explains in full what is collected, why, who handles it, how long it's kept, and how it's destroyed. You can ask us to delete anything related to your age check at support@aycmmanuscript.com.
Right to Deletion
Subject to certain exceptions set out below, on receipt of a verifiable request from you, we will:
- Delete your personal information from our records; and
